We made a movie about how we spend our day at school. We hope you like it.

Healthy Drinks

We are learning about healthy food so we investigated sugar in drinks. We found out that we should only have 5 teaspoons of sugar a day. We decided that the best drink to have at school is water!

Cross Country

We had a great day at cross country. We ran as fast as we could.

Problem Solving

We read a story about Hedgehogs coming out in spring. We had to work out how many hedgehogs there were in the garden.

Olympic Maths!

We have been learning about the Olympic Games.  We wanted to know just how high, how far and how fast the athlete went.

We are getting ready to run 100 meters.  We can't run as
fast a Usain Bolt yet!

Tom Walsh threw the shot put 20 meters.  We are standing that far from the
camera.  We lifted up a shot put and it was really heavy.

The gold medalist at the high jump jumped 2.38 meters. That is where Nikau is pointing too.

This is the length of the gold medal winning long jump.  It was 8.38 meters.Wow!

Room 1 writing

This week we worked on understanding letters and the sounds they make.  We can hear the beginning sound of new words, and sometimes the middle and end sound as well.  We looked at word families and some of us wrote some silly sentences!

Maths in Room 1

Maths with Shapes

On Friday in Room 1 we talked out shapes.  We looked at triangles, circles, squares and rectangles.  We thought about the sides and corners of each shape.  Then we used the shapes to make a cool picture.

We were sad because we couldn't go to the beach! So we decided to have a fun swim at school! Mrs Cameron got out the hose and the water slide. We had fun running and sliding. Sometimes Mrs Cameron squirted us with the hose!

Swim Safe

Swim Safe We had lots of fun learning about being safe in deep water by wearing a life jacket. We learned that "Tight is Right!"
